Welcome to the Governors’ page.
The Governing Body currently has 15 members, the majority of whom are volunteers and are a mix of parents, staff, Diocese nominations and community members. We meet twice termly and the main sub committees (‘Personnel and Finance’ and ‘Teaching, Learning and Curriculum, Health and Safety and Premises’) also meet twice termly or as necessary. There are additional committees for Admissions and Pay and most Governors have other specific responsibilities.
Some of the projects we work on will be obvious such as the complete renovation of the Quiet Area and rewriting the school prospectus. We also get involved in the not so obvious issues like on-going maintenance of the school, human resources aspects for the staff, developing the school budget, school strategic plan, policy writing and reviews as well as supporting staff with key areas of responsibility like IT, Special Educational Needs, global awareness, religious education and creativity. Some of the governors also support children in school in specific areas including hearing children read, teaching French, road safety awareness and many more.
We will communicate with you via newsletters and this page and we want to hear what you have to say. If you wish to raise any issues with us please leave a note with the school office marked ‘Chair of Governors’ and I’ll get back to you.
