Clatford School PTA has charity status which means that we have a set of rules that we must abide by called the “ constitution”.
These rules dictate to us how we run the PTA and describes our purpose. It states that
“ The object of the Association is to advance the education of the pupils in the school. In furtherance of this object the association may:-
A) Develop more extended relationships between the staff, parents and others associated with the school
B) Engage in activities which support the school and advance of education of the pupils attending it
C) Provide and assist in the provision of such facilities or items for education at the school ( not provided from statutory funds) as the committee shall from time to time determine.”
The management of the PTA consists of a voluntary committee which meets up once a month (on average) to progress all the activities and any other projects that Miss Rice or the Governors require of us.
Membership of the PTA however, and to quote the constitution again ”shall consist of all parents and / or guardians of pupils attending the school and all teachers. It also consists of Grandparents, Friends of the school, Ancillary Staff and Governors of the school and we really do have very good support from our members.
